Rapid COVID Test

What happens during a rapid COVID test?
The rapid COVID test is performed at the point of care using a nasal swab, conducted by one of our medical assistants or primary care providers. This rapid antigen test provides results in just 15 minutes, indicating whether the patient is currently infected with acute COVID-19, in contrast to the 3-5 day wait time for most nasal swab tests.
What Can I Learn from a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test?
The rapid COVID test only shows whether the COVID-19 virus is present at the time of testing. It does not determine if the patient has been previously infected with COVID-19 or if any other viruses are currently present. The test does not detect other seasonal coronaviruses.
Are There Other Related Treatments Available?
In addition to the rapid COVID test, Heart Care Clinic also offers nasal swab testing for COVID-19 and antibody testing to determine past infections. We have implemented all procedural changes recommended by the CDC to ensure the safety of our patients during the ongoing pandemic.
